We are looking for a Research Scientist to join a dynamic team in College Park, MD. Research Scientist - Level 1 The Level 1 Research Scientist evaluates and applies advanced scientific principles to support research and innovation initiatives. This role requires maintaining a strong understanding of emerging technologies, scientific theories, and industry trends to contribute to forward-looking research and potential product development. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct laboratory-based research and experimentation to support scientific studies and innovation efforts. * Execute scientific studies and analyze results to inform research direction and technical decisions. * Apply scientific principles and concepts to explore potential inventions, technologies, and products-often years in advance of formal product development. * Stay current with advancements in scientific literature, industry developments, academic research, and technical conferences. * Provide expert insight on the application of scientific theories and methodologies. * Contribute to the development of intellectual property, including research findings and potential innovations. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or Physics from an accredited institution. * Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a related field. * A Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience. * In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted (total of 6 years required). * Strong understanding of scientific research methods and analytical techniques. * Ability to stay current with emerging technologies and scientific advancements.
