The Department of Urology is seeking an exceptional candidate with research experience for a non-tenure research track assistant professor position.
The Department aims to provide advanced scientific knowledge to benefit individual and population health by creating, disseminating, and implementing rigorous, innovative methodologies across the entire spectrum of basic science research. Participation in MSOM research programs further enhances the efforts of faculty, staff, and students to fulfill UM's academic mission in education, research, and service.
The selected individual will be a faculty member in the Department of Urology and will be engaged in both methodological and collaborative research with existing faculty, have a commitment to team science, and possess effective oral and written communication skills.
Candidates must possess a doctorate degree and should be emerging scholars with evidence of a growing body of outstanding scholarship. Candidates are also expected to develop and obtain externally funded, independent research.
Candidates should have the ability to:
Build and develop an innovative program of research.
Obtain external funding.
Represent the Department and the University at professional meetings locally, nationally, and internationally.
Publish seminal research findings in refereed, high impact journals, and book chapters.
Collaborate with other faculty to obtain research funding for multi-disciplinary research.
Assist in the development of strategic partnerships with departments, centers, and institutes at the University.
Qualifications:
PhD degree from an accredited university. Effective oral and written communication skills including significant publication record in peer-reviewed publications. Demonstrated ability to lead innovative research projects to successful conclusions. Evidence of being able to secure and sustain extramural funding.
