We will be hiring WS and Non-WS student employees for this position.
The Digital Accessibility Center works to ensure that UT class and other online materials are accessible, especially for disabled students, faculty, and staff with access needs.
Purpose
The Document Accessibility Graduate Research Assistant position is responsible for leading a team of undergraduate students and reviewing the document remediation done by that team. This provides a valuable service to the entire campus, especially for students that have accessibility needs to be able to participate and learn fully in their classes.
Responsibilities
  • Lead team of undergraduates
  • Review remediated documents
  • Troubleshooting issues that come up while remediating documents
  • Remediating documents as necessary

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled at UT Austin as a graduate student
  • Taking at least one summer course
  • Able to have a work schedule during typical business hours (8am-6pm)
  • Access to high-speed internet
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Attention to detail and able to work independently
  • Basic computer skills

Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with digital accessibility features
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and PowerPoint (either Mac or PC versions)
  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro

$21.25/hour
