The UNM-Valencia Campus seekscandidates for temporary, part-time faculty to teach 1000-2000 Level ComputerScience (programming) courses. If online teaching is needed, documentedaccepted training and/or in-house training would be required. Positions arecontingent upon the need of each semester as determined by student enrollmentlevels and current course offerings. This is a continuous recruitmentbeginning in the Fall 2026 semester.
Located about 30 miles south ofAlbuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-ValenciaCampus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico, whichfunctions as a community college in the region and is designated a HispanicServing Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, ValenciaCampus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education,and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties. - Master's degree in Computer Science or Master's degree in Applied Mathematics or a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in Computer Science
- Two years of experience teaching or tutoring Computer Science (programming)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D., ABD, or EdD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
- At least one year of successful teaching experience at a community college
- Documented training to teach online courses
- A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
