The Center for Inherited Blood Disorders (CIBD) is a mission-driven non-profit organization focused on delivering high-quality, comprehensive, and family-centered care to improve the quality of life for children and adults with blood disorders. The Research Internship Program is designed to provide you real-world experience that challenges you to develop your skills and prepare you to lead at the next level of your career. Working side-by-side with an experienced leader, you will gain hands-on research experience across various stages of the research process. Because each intern's professional development goals are unique, your experience at CIBD will be tailored to advance your career in the areas of most interest to you. Department: Research Approximate Assignment Duration: June - September Approximate Shift: M - F, 8:00 - 4:30 (40 hours per week) Location: On-site Paid internship

Job Summary This role is ideal for undergraduate or graduate students looking to gain hands on experience in clinical research practices and regulations. Assist in conducting research projects, gathering data, and analyzing information under the guidance of the Research Supervisor and Research Director. Responsible for data collection, analysis, literature reviews, report writing, and administrative tasks as needed. Collaborate with team members, assisting in the laboratory processing specimens, preparing reports, and participating in team meetings.

Essential Duties

Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings to support ongoing projects.

Collect and analyze data using statistical tools and software.

Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate research findings to stakeholders.

Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance research strategies and processes.

Support administrative tasks related to project management and documentation.

Requirements

Actively enrolled in either an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree (or Associate’s degree for Transfer) or a graduate degree in a health or science-related field (e.g., Biology, Public Health, or Health Sciences) from an accredited institution

Have reliable transportation to work on-site for the duration of the internship assignment

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship now or in the future

Compensation listed is the expected salary base at time of hire. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience

About the Organization

The Center for Comprehensive Care & Diagnosis of Inherited Blood Disorders (CIBD), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is committed to providing comprehensive care for patients and their families with rare, chronic inherited blood disorders. CIBD is a part of a nationwide network of over 140 Hemophilia Treatment Centers that use multidisciplinary teams of blood disorder specialists to provide expert comprehensive diagnosis, medical care, outreach, education, outcomes monitoring, surveillance, and prevention services to people with hemophilia, Sickle-Cell Anemia, Thalassemia, Von Willebrand Disease, and other related hematology conditions. CIBD is the regional grantee for the Western States Region/Region IX providing regional leadership, fiscal and administrative oversight, grants management, capacity building, clinical education, technical assistance, evaluation, and outreach to public and private health agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.
