The Department of Computer Science at the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz, which serves more than 200 undergraduate majors and a sizable master's program, invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position beginning August 2026.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The primary responsibility for this position is teaching, with a standard load of five courses in both the Fall and Spring semesters. The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate computer science courses.
  • Participate in department activities, student recruitment, and outreach.
  • Carry administrative tasks and/or student advising as needed. These service activities may count as one course toward the teaching load.
  • Supervise laboratory facilities and manage department servers as needed; this work may also count as one course toward the teaching load.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • M.S. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline. Candidates from all areas of computer science are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience or clear potential for effective undergraduate teaching.
  • Excellent communication skills.
