Job description

Ensure successful operation and implementation of retail store hardware and software, especially POS. Support operation of cash office; take care of business needs and issues.

Travel is 90% - Must be located in Augusta - Aiken area and will provide store support for this area. 


- Install hardware and software as necessary. Providing support and troubleshooting as required.
- Provide training to store teams on new procedures when necessary.
- Ensures the smooth opening of all new Alex Lee retail stores regarding point of sale, front office operation, fuel centers, payment devices, specialty areas, eCommerce, Catalina and self-checkout.
- Continually improves the overall quality and performance of front-end systems.
- Documents systems to ensure effective use and efficient ongoing maintenance.
- Proactive, positive approach to problem-solving.
- Coordinates and assists with remodels, de-installs and special projects.
- Assist the infrastructure team as field support for networking related hardware and troubleshooting.
- Responsible for on-call duties to provide application / hardware support during off hours as scheduled by supervisor. Serves as backup for other on-call team members.
- Work with third party break fix providers to help restore systems when necessary.


-Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics or business is required or equivalent knowledge and skill from work experience. 2+ years of technology related experience. 2+ years of grocery retail support. Should possess working knowledge of retail automation applications and POS systems.

- May be required to work long hours during install projects which may also require multiple nights away from home.
- Must be able to juggle multiple tasks and work in situations where being bombarded from all directions.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Able to make decisions.
- Able to work without supervision.
- Basic understanding of IBM 4690 / Toshiba TCxSky OS.
