Job Description
The Harborview Medical Center Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding Pharmacy Technician to join our Outpatient Pharmacy Team!
WORK SCHEDULE
• Per Diem
• Rotating/variable shifts
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
• Assist the Pharmacist in professional activities and perform assigned tasks in the outpatient pharmacies
• All activities of Pharmacy Technicians are performed under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist patients with intake of new and refill prescriptions.
• Order entry of medication orders, which would include controlled substances, into the ambulatory pharmacy computer system, for pharmacist verification.
• Fill patient prescriptions and perform financial functions supporting the prescription-filling process.
• Dispense prescriptions to patients, appropriately referring those who require counseling to a pharmacist for dispensing.
Strong candidates will have experience working in an outpatient pharmacy setting.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant OR equivalent education/experience
LEGAL REQUIREMENT
State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification
