Job description

As the Manager, Data Science, you'll lead a team of data scientists as they apply data science to solve complex business problems. You'll play a key role in shaping the direction of the Data Science organization by partnering with other leaders across the company and working alongside the Vice President of Data Science to evolve our practices, strategy, and impact.
In this role, you'll work across business and technology teams to align on a vision, influence priorities, and execute against high-impact initiatives. Just as importantly, you'll help grow great people - creating an environment where team members can learn, develop, and do great work.
About the role
  • Lead and mentor a team of data scientists on performance, growth, production, and day-to-day responsibilities
  • Partner across business and technology organizations to align on priorities, influence strategy, and execute against a shared vision
  • Query, analyze, and summarize large and complex datasets to drive business strategy and decision-making
  • Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling techniques to solve business problems
  • Support the development and scaling of internal and user-facing data products
  • Work with team members and stakeholders to translate business processes and challenges tractable data science problems
  • Monitor the performance of implemented solutions and conduct recurring evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Generate simulations, experiments, and what-if analyses to support strategic decision-making
  • Pull and create reports necessary to support the team and senior leadership in tracking strategic goals and outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex concepts into actionable insights
  • Help shape and evolve best practices, standards, and processes across the Data Science organization
  • Communicate and embody the culture and mission of the company

About you
  • 3 years of experience in a related field
  • 2 years of experience in management and administration
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics or a related field
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Proficiency in SQL, noSQL and ElasticSearch
  • Knowledge of Statistics, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and machine learning
