Position Summary:
Tetra Tech's High Performance Buildings Division is actively seeking to hire a Structural CAD Designer I. The qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career of working with multiple drafting/modeling platforms to develop engineering drawings on various projects. This position will require working independently or as part of a larger team to improve company drafting standards and procedures in a fast-paced work environment.

Essential Job Functions:

The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:

  •  Assist in developing structural models, drawings, and details using Revit for steel, masonry, and concrete buildings and foundations.
  • Prepare and revise Revit models and drawings based on guidance from engineers and senior designers.
  • Support project teams by incorporating markups and maintaining project documentation within Revit.
  • Assist with multidisciplinary coordination eorts and help identify and resolve model conicts under supervision.
  • Learn and apply company drafting standards, project requirements, and BIM best practices.
  • Support the Structural Revit Lead and project team with model setup, drawing production, and quality control activities.
  • Read and follow project-specic CAD and BIM requirements to ensure compliance with client and company standards.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to expand technical and modeling skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in CAD Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related eld from an accredited community college, technical school, or trade school required. Relevant internship, co-op, or project experience using Revit is preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in structural drafting, BIM modeling, or related design support roles.
  • Familiarity with Revit and basic drafting principles through academic coursework, internships, or professional experience.
  • Experience with structural drawings, construction documents, or building information modeling (BIM) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new software, processes, and technical requirements quickly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong organizational, (time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines with guidance from senior team members.
  •  A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required for this position 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout office or project site environments.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move materials, equipment, or documents weighing up to 10 pounds; infrequent lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
  • Requires use of hands and fingers for operating a computer, drafting software, and standard office equipment.
  • Requires visual ability to review engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documents.

Additional Information:

  • Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Flexible work arrangements, including remote, hybrid, or in-office work, may be available based on business needs and employee performance.
  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, technical skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
