Job description

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Ops Research Analyst / Flight Test Engineer to join our growing team in Las Vegas, NV.
This individual will be tasked to support flight test and data analysis of electronic countermeasures and aircraft survivability equipment.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop & Maintain Custom MATLAB Tools: Design, program, and maintain data analysis tools, scripts, and automated processes in MATLAB (and/or Python) to streamline test evaluation and post-test data processing.
Multi-Source Data Analysis: Aggregate, clean, and analyze complex datasets from various disparate sources, proactively identifying and resolving data anomalies or inconsistencies.
Advanced Data Visualization: Create advanced graphical representations or dashboards to compare empirical test data against modeled data or mission criteria.
End-to-End Test Documentation: Author comprehensive flight test documentation, including test plans, test cards, data management protocols, incident logs, and final technical reports.
Test Design & Strategy: Utilize statistical analysis techniques and design of experiments methodologies to build robust test matrices and define data collection requirements based on pre-test predictive modeling.
Flight Test Execution: Active participation in the coordination, planning, and real-time execution of flight tests, including fulfilling critical control room duties.
Reporting & Strategic Recommendations: Translate complex test metrics into actionable engineering reports and briefings that outline test success/failure criteria and guide future system development.
Cross-Functional Communication: Effectively convey highly technical optical, infrared, or radar-related concepts and findings to program leadership.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, data analytics, operations research, statistics, physics, computer science, or related STEM field
Required Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience or masters degree with relevant internship
• Working knowledge of MATLAB, Python, or similar analytical tools experience is required
Desired Skills:
• Working knowledge of current and new software database technologies to create and evaluate data
• Working knowledge of optical, infrared, or radar tracking systems and general flight test principles
• Previous experience as aircrew member (pilot, electronic warfare officer, or navigator)
• Proven use and deployment of AI tools to accelerate data analysis
Clearance Requirements:
Must be able to qualify and maintain a secret clearance. Active secret clearance preferred.
Travel:
Approximately 50% of overnight travel is anticipated.
Candidate should anticipate and be available to travel for up to two weeks per month or more.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
