Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an Energy Services Intern for our Summer 2027 internship program! The Energy Services Intern plays a supportive role within the Energy Services team, contributing to the efficient operations of the U.S. Energy division. This entry-level position provides an opportunity to learn and develop analytical and organizational skills while assisting in delivering high-quality customer and employee experiences.
The Energy Services Intern collaborates closely with various departments and stakeholders, working alongside the Energy Services Manager, Senior Energy Services Analysts, Energy Services Analysts, Marketers, Supply Managers, Business Development Managers, Suppliers, Terminal Operators, Accounting, Compliance, Rack Operations, Legal, Tax, Credit, Scheduling, BI team, and IT Services. This collaboration ensures the smooth and effective running of operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the onboarding functions and document retention related to US Energy agreements, including wholesale purchases/sales, retail purchases/sales, inventory, exchange, terminals, terminal throughput, pipeline tariff, railcar release, transloading, alternative solutions, and other logistics services.

  • Support the Energy Services team in contract management functions, including data entry, tracking key terms, rates, and end-dates, and assisting in the maintenance of contracts.

  • Contribute to the accuracy of billing, invoicing, and reporting related to carriers, customers, and contracts through onboarding/off-boarding of key attributes and changes.

  • Provide support in resolving operational, accounting, and data integration issues under the guidance of the Energy Services Manager and Energy Services Analysts. This may include addressing issues related to operations, accounting, and integration such as loading, allocations, price distribution, product cost, terminal and customer translation issues, incorrect pricing, product and terminal fees, requests for BOL, credit/rebills, electronic BOL, AP invoice, terminal, product, and customer control.

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of processes by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to contracts, onboarding, and maintenance.

  • Support the onboarding functions for Energy employees, participating in the development and implementation of onboarding processes.

  • Collaborate with the Energy Services team in training new associates to U.S. Energy, ensuring they have the necessary tools and understanding of expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Professional and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn about the refined petroleum or energy/utilities industry.
