IT Intern
Offered in the spring, summer, and fall terms, this internship role is designed for students pursuing degrees in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields. Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, this part-time position provides a flexible schedule to accommodate academic commitments while offering practical, hands-on experience in core IT functions. Depending on your institution's requirements, this role may be eligible for college credit.
o Spring Internship: Approximately 14 weeks, from mid-January to the end of April.
o Fall Internship: Approximately 14 weeks, from September to mid-December.
o Summer Internship: Approximately 10 weeks, from June to mid-August.
The IT Intern will support the IT department by assisting in day-to-day operations, system maintenance, troubleshooting, and user support. This role is intended to provide a foundational experience in a professional IT environment, contributing to the efficiency and security of our organization's technology systems.
Key Objectives
• Gain practical exposure to desktop support, hardware setup, and software troubleshooting.
• Assist with the management of internal IT systems and documentation.
• Provide timely technical support to end users and help ensure IT best practices.
Primary Responsibilities
• Set up, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, speakers, cameras, mobile devices, and network cables for new and existing users.
• Assist with diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
• Support routine maintenance and updates for systems and applications including Windows 11.
• Help maintain user account records, passwords, and access permissions.
• Monitor Track-It helpdesk requests and provide first-level support for internal teams.
• Document technical issues and solutions for knowledge-sharing purposes.
• Support network and printer troubleshooting as directed by IT staff.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the IT department as assigned.
Qualifications
• Actively pursuing an Associate/Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and basic networking concepts.
• Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
