  • PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
    • Position Objective
      • As an intern, this position will work on becoming a productive member of the Radiology team while gaining experience as a student technologist.
    • Performance Expectation
      • General Diagnostic Procedures:
        • Performs all diagnostic procedures following policies and procedures established by the department, including the Fluoroand OR
        • Adjusts patient care based on age-specific needs
        • Uses all equipment properly and in a timely manner that minimizes hazards of electric shock, burns, and extraneousradiation to patients
        • Determines most suitable position and shields patient for optimum imaging and patient comfort. Follows ALARA principlestaff and patients shielding
        • Explains procedures and responds to questions appropriately
        • Scans paperwork into PAC's System
        • Maintains a working knowledge of PAC's System
        • Demonstrates knowledge of CD burning
        • Completes patient charges for each exam in a timely manner
        • Transports patients to and from the department
        • Maintains a clean and orderly environment and associated checklist
        • Able to keep note when order and inclination will not be correct
        • Keep dose as low as possible to achieve a diagnostic exam
        • Duties as assigned by the Director of Radiology

        Administrative:
        • Uses computer to access reports
        • Follows protocols for releasing of images
        • Assists with administrative responsibilities of the department to include scheduling appointments, answering the phone, etc.
        • Performs all quality controls procedures daily as assigned and maintains appropriate logs
        • Participates in annual surveys and inspections
        • Ensures proper annotation, notes, etc., appear on PACS (wet reads, priors, etc.)
