Job description


Summary of Essential Functions
  • Must be able to perform those duties that pertain to the Cyber Security of United Regional Health Care System.
  • Provide technical assistance where necessary to ensure that PC end-users have functioning hardware and other devices to do their jobs.
  • Utilize and maintain various databases reflecting security and status of various devices.
  • Work closely with and assists other technical team to resolve PC and/or network problems.
  • Ensure Joint Commission compliance by working with management to understand and put into place practices to support the Information Management (IM) objectives.
  • Manage workload and project status utilizing work order system in order to track workload and other critical aspects.
  • May be called on to handle Help Desk functions.

Educational Requirements
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a university and pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher at the time of the Intern Program
  • Technical school, college, or work-related experience helpful.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Must be able to install and update computer equipment utilized by United Regional.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to adapt and learn quickly in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to prioritize a variety of assignments.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational skills, and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
  • With some assistance, must be able to plan, manage, establish processes, and successfully complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Must possess a moderate level of problem solving and troubleshooting skills as well as the ability to work and communicate with all levels of management, both inside and outside the health care system.

Physical Requirements
  • May involve standing/walking and sitting.
  • Must be able to see different colors.
  • Noise intensity level is moderate and temperature variation level is minimal.
  • Able to move about the system's facilities and potentially lift or otherwise move items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages workload using work order system and project management applications to ensure timeliness and consistency in meeting established deadlines.
  • Maintains documentation using work order system and project management applications.
  • Installs PC Operating System and release upgrades including, but not limited to: Windows updates, Client Access, Anti-Virus updates, and other multi-user updates and upgrades
  • Provides limited user training on PC/network use, software/hardware installation, printer use, information security and general system guidelines.
  • Evaluates and advises management of effect of new or modified programs as required.
  • Maintains inventory of hardware and software using the Hardware Database. Maintains working environment by keeping a safe, clean, and orderly workspace
  • Performs all other tasks/responsibilities as directed.
