Aspiring RN Student Nurse Intern | Medical Oncology

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where compassionate care and professional growth are valued. This Student Nurse Intern role offers hands-on experience under the guidance of licensed nurses, focusing on medical oncology patients.

Under supervision, the intern performs a variety of patient care duties tailored to individual age and developmental needs, assisting with daily living activities and clinical tasks.

  • Provide direct patient care including hygiene assistance such as bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, and grooming.
  • Deliver skin care while preventing breakdown and assist with physical activities like repositioning, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and transfers.
  • Support nutritional needs by preparing patients for meals, assisting with feeding, monitoring intake, and adhering to dietary restrictions.
  • Collect specimens, perform vital signs, and document intake and output accurately.
  • Perform specialized care such as sit baths, postmortem care, application of compression devices, and wound management.
  • Lead and participate in performance improvement initiatives, fostering teamwork and employee engagement.
  • Carry out technical nursing procedures within credentialed scope, including oxygen therapy management, catheter insertion/removal, intravenous therapy discontinuation, suctioning, dressing changes, injections, and NG tube care.
  • Conduct patient assessments and collaborate closely with primary nurses to ensure quality care.
  • Educate patients and families in coordination with nursing staff.
  • Maintain thorough and precise documentation of all care activities and patient status changes.

Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed nursing education but not yet licensed.

Entry-level position; no prior experience required.
