Job Summary The Department of Information Technology is currently seeking a Cloud Engineer in the Infrastructure Division.

This position will serve as a lead engineer in support of the County's private and public cloud environments providing the highest level of customer service. Provides cloud systems design and administration - Analyzes, designs, and troubleshoots cloud systems; assists with installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of cloud systems and related infrastructure; develops and maintains system documentation, procedures, and standards; manages system installation, upgrades, and replacements; and provides technical support to Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, and other staff. Maintains performance of cloud systems - Monitors performance of County cloud systems; analyzes system utilization, identifies problems, and makes adjustments to correct processing problems; and identifies and corrects problems using monitoring tools and testing equipment.

Provides customer service - Provides courteous and timely customer service to County staff, vendors, citizens, and other visitors. Refers customers to appropriate staff. Resolves system issues - Identifies and corrects problems with computer hardware and software using monitoring tools and testing equipment.

Troubleshoots computer hardware issues - Identifies and corrects problems with computer hardware using available monitoring tools; works with maintenance providers to resolve hardware issues. This position is eligible for a $6,000 hiring bonus. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree with coursework in Computer Science or related field; four (4) years of related technical work experience preferably in a government setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of public clouds including AWS and Azure. Advanced knowledge of private cloud hypervisors including Nutanix. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Server Operating Systems.
