This job requires technical experiences related to building cutting-edge product and Development experiences. This position needs to have comfortable working with the manufacturing industry as well as high technology-driven products with the client and customers. This role is focused on developing a project and deeply involving technical requirements in the development as well as issue resolving. Customer & Tier companies communication and development management to ensure strength and innovation in the client's automotive business. This role is directly influencing the integration project development across all client and automotive manufactures and requires a confidant with identifying problems, communicating the concerns and driving for closure in order to deliver the best development quality within the time frame with build trust while demonstrating excellent features implementation and problem resolving skills. This role must play nice with others, have a humble service mindset, and be a results-driven self-motivator.

Position Location: Troy, MIAs the Development Engineer CONTRACTOR, you will:Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance to OEMs and internal teams, resolving issues and ensuring seamless integration of company products into vehicle platforms

  • Support product and component testing, as well as system-level analysis. This includes running simulations and using diagnostic tools like CANoe/CANalyzer

  • Assist in creating and reviewing technical documentation, specifications, and test plans to ensure product integrity and quality

  • Work closely with internal teams, OEMs, and Tier 2 suppliers to facilitate product development and integration

  • Provide technical assistance during product launches, prototype builds, and production changeovers, ensuring smooth transitions from design to production

  • Other Duties as Assigned

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Software) or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

  • Technical Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with core quality tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, and APQP

  • Programming Skills:

    • Proficiency in C++, C, Shell Script, and Batch Script

    • Linux background is a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external contacts

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and thrive in high-pressure situations that may arise during production issues

  • Comfortable with hands-on work involving assembly, installation, or movement of engineering components and test equipment

Travel/Physical Requirements:
  • Up to 30% travel, including out-of-state and international travel as required

  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive to supplier/OEM facilities as needed

  • Ability to lift and/or carry equipment up to 35lbs

Preferred:
  • Previous internships or co-op experience in automotive design, manufacturing, or quality

  • Experience with simulation tools like CANoe or CANalyzer for vehicle platform testing

  • Hands-on experience in the automotive industry, specifically with product launches or prototype builds
