The primary purpose of this position is to exercise 1st level supervisory and managerial authorities over the 418th Data Science and Analysis Flight (DSAF). Responsible for performing professional scientific and management work in support of projects/programs pertaining to Computer Scientist Engineering.
Duty #1 - Exercises 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more of duty time.
Duty #2 - Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the unit. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization, technical and scientific objectives.
Duty #3 - Performs professional computer science work involved in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes.
Duty #4 - Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Requirements:
- A Computer Science degree at the bachelor's level from an institution with an ABET accredited program or a closely related field is highly desired.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- This position may be designated as an acquisition position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
Recruitment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, and materials of professional computer science, and knowledge of other technical disciplines to effectively apply advanced computer software, software systems and computer hardware architectural theories, principles and concepts to new applications, experimental theories, and other areas of responsibility.
2. Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to utilize AoP concepts and initiatives to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
6. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
