The Division of Youth Safety and Permanency has the following opening for a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist (PSR), on the Foster Care Licensing team. This position will carry a workload of families licensed to provide foster care and may also provide direction and guidance to Social Worker staff. They deliver and provide direct services to foster families and monitor a foster family's achievements of outcomes for safety, permanency, and well-being. They also utilize an array of community resources to resolve issues and participate in interdisciplinary team staffing to support foster families and the children in their care.
This position will be based in our Rexburg, Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, and Pocatello areas.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

• Make on-site evaluations of foster homes to determine suitability of facilities and service providers for licensure/certification
• Facilitate client access to support services
• Carry a full caseload in child welfare social work, with difficult foster care licenses
• Client counseling, social services, support, and change-oriented activities to preserve the family unit and promote client self-determination
• Develop appropriate safety plans for children addressing special needs of clients
• Participate in interdisciplinary team staffing to modify treatment plans
• Prepare case record notes attesting to engagement with clients and results from specific kinds of service
• Monitor child and family achievements for safety, permanency, and well-being, refer clients and others to community resources and provide court-related services including testimony, mediation, negotiation, and implementation of agreements
• Use keyboard to document and enter client data into computerized record system and provide input to supervisors regarding observed individual progress and performance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. • Good knowledge of human services principles and practices including behavioral management methods, social and family systems, cognitive behavioral education and case management methods. Typically gained by a certification as a psychosocial rehabilitation specialist in accordance with USPRA requirements OR bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, behavioral science, special education, psychosocial rehabilitation, healthcare, criminal justice or related field from a nationally accredited university or college OR 2-4 upper division courses as stated above AND 2-4 years' work experience OR experience that represents the knowledge level above.
• Computer literacy for data entry, electronic mail, composing reports and letters, and storing and retrieving documents.
