Description
Diagnoses problems and services sheet metal machinery and related metal fabricating machinery through repair and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES (Other duties may be assigned)
Machinery:
• Diagnoses functional problems with sheet metal machinery and metal fabricating machinery.
• Purchases new replacement parts for machinery.
• Fabricates miscellaneous components (covers, guards, supports, etc.) for machinery.
• Cleans machinery using pressure washer, steam cleaner, or parts degreaser.
• Observes all company safety practices and procedures including protective hearing and eyewear.
• Performs preventative maintenance services on RAM Fabrication' machines, company shop and field equipment.
• Maintains daily communications with team and/or managers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up.
• Makes suggestions regarding added value to current parts and repairs.
• Utilizes tools in a safe, proper, and efficient manner.
• Presents a professional image to customers.
• Travels to RAM Fabrication branches as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1-2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Fabrication industry knowledge and/or construction knowledge a strong plus.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Ability to work in a fast-paced high-speed environment, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, change priorities as necessary.
• Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; have finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must be able to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use sense of smell.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes of airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to elevated. The warehouse/shop space is not climate controlled. Working environment can involve grease, fluids, and electricity.
