Job description

Garver is seeking an experienced water industry professional as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager for our growing Kansas portfolio in our Wichita office. With the full support of a century-old engineering consulting firm that is rapidly growing in the water market, the successful candidate will help develop and pursue diverse and custom water and wastewater projects, build and maintain outstanding client relationships, be active in industry activities and events, and learn and mentor as part of a growing full services team.
The Project Manager will also assist the Kansas Regional Team Leader in managing and mentoring internal staff, coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and ensuring the delivery of quality products that adhere to Garver standardization. This Project Manager will also be included in client meetings and at industry conferences on behalf of Garver and the Water Business Line.
Responsibilities may include design and managing a variety of projects related to:
  • Water conveyance and distribution, including pump stations and storage facilities
  • Wastewater conveyance and collection, including lift stations and force mains
  • Pipeline inspection and rehabilitation
  • Water, Wastewater, Reuse master planning
  • Water, Wastewater, Reuse treatment facilities and infrastructure

In addition to design, this role will include coordination with other support disciplines, coordination with regulating agencies, and quality assurance and quality control. Periodic travel will be required on an as-needed basis for projects, conferences, marketing, and other duties.
Candidates will be familiar following routine functions:
  • Be technically competent with water or wastewater engineering and civil engineering
  • Manage scope, budget, and schedule for a team of project engineers, design engineers, and CAD Technicians in the development of water projects
  • Manage project budgets including the development of detailed project instructions, scope of work, level of effort, and associated man-hour estimates
  • Be responsible for time management and work product quality
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects
  • Conduct written and oral project reporting for clients and Team Leader(s).
  • Prepare and deliver Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans
  • Conduct Construction engineering administration management for local projects

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 4+ years of similar technical project management experience
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE)

Preferred
  • Passionate about client service and the water industry
  • Strong work ethic and strong communication skills
  • Masters' Degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program
