Job description

Job Title: CAD Technologist Specialist

Location: Scarborough, ON

Duration: 12+ Months Contract with high possibility for Extension

Working Hours: M-F 9-5

Work Arrangement: Onsite (5days in office)


Overview:

The CAD Technologist Specialist will support the Engineering team with the modernization, updating, and standardization of legacy technical documentation. This role focuses on converting older CAD drawings and fabrication documents into current formats, templates, and standards to support ongoing manufacturing and engineering activities. This position offers hands‑on exposure to industrial CAD drafting, engineering documentation, and manufacturing support in a structured engineering environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Update and re‑create legacy CAD drawings using current templates and standards
  • Convert existing documentation into standardized, production‑ready formats
  • Create and revise fabrication and assembly drawings
  • Update and validate bills of materials (BOMs) and related documentation
  • Ensure drawing accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Apply drafting standards, naming conventions, and revision control practices
  • Work under the direction of senior designers and engineers
  • Support documentation clean‑up and continuous improvement initiatives


Required Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or CAD‑related program
  • Experience using CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working on detail‑oriented, documentation‑focused tasks
  • Ability to follow established standards and procedures


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in drafting or manufacturing environments
