This is an in-office position located in Hopkinsville, KY.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The CAD Technician will use technology to help generate designs for poll barns, homes, and other projects as assigned. These designs may be used to create 2D images and 3D modeling. The CAD Technician must work with other team members and departments to set timelines, budgets, and assist in making decisions regarding materials that will be used to complete customer projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Creates technical drawings and models using software such as Chief Architect and Revit.
  • Meet and interact with clients to ascertain scope of work and design preferences for homes, shop houses and pole barn structures.
  • Focuses on creating technical drawings and models based on existing designs, specifications, and instructions provided by engineers, architects, or other specialists.
  • Create floor plans, 3D overviews, elevations and CAD details using Chief Architect & Revit Software with direction from our sales team, clients, and contractors.
  • Work on special projects and provide administrative support when needed.
  • Manage/maintain asset libraries for use in Chief Architect & Revit Software
  • Work in a team environment and have excellent people skills.
  • Excellent people skills required to clearly communicate the services and materials provided by our company to clients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Residential/Agricultural construction experience (hands-on or design, 2+ years preferred).
  • Hi level of computer use including Office 365 software.
  • Use of Chief Architect Design Software (Preferred), Revit, or similar Professional Creative software such as AutoCad, Photoshop, SketchUP, 3D software etc... On the job training for the right fit.
  • Bachelor's degree in architectural or design field preferred but not required.
  • Experience Project management, and/or project management software such as ClickUp, Asana helpful.
  • Zoom or other virtual meeting experience preferred.

Summertown offers competitive wages contingent upon experience, education, and skills. Starting rate for this role is $18.00/hr.
The schedule for this role is Monday - Friday from 7 am to 5 pm.
