Summary
We have an immediate need for an Aftermarket Estimator who is responsible for analyzing construction drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, material, equipment, and labor estimates involved in assigned products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes. Provides preliminary estimates for planning purposes and detailed itemized estimates based on final plans and specifications. Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and develops itemized lists. Estimates upon computing cost factors, items for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness. Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions. Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Revises estimates as requested. May specialize according to a particular service performed, type of product manufactured, or phase of work involved.
Some of the work that you will do:
  • Research existing job history to ensure the quote scope is accurate, complete, and in line with current standards.
  • Send out preliminary quotation requests to vendors and requests catalog information.
  • Review project estimates and prepare quotes.
  • Become familiar with details of the purchase order or contract.
  • Work with the purchasing group in deciding key buying issues.
  • Understand and comply with ISO procedures.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of WesTech products by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.

  • Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate percentage increases and decreases.
  • Must be detail-oriented and well-organized.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft and Excel and Word.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work at desk computer/phone system.
  • Some lifting may be involved (40 lbs).
