Job description

The Student Program at Nexteer Automotive offers high‑potential students meaningful opportunities to apply classroom learning in a professional environment while gaining hands‑on experience and valuable industry exposure. This is a Student Co-op position located in Saginaw, MI.  This position supports the Electrical validation (EE) Lab activities.

  • Work with validation engineers and lab team to understand the processes of the lab including the quality system, and testing
  • Work with the lab team to improve processes in place for the lab
  • Handle the EE labs purchases and shippers for parts/equipment
  • Assist in maintaining computer hardware, software and test equipment
  • Work with lab team to support/assist in testing when needed
  • Learn the processes of Nexteer Automotive within and outside of the EE Lab team

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be attending a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw
  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 in the summer
  • Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 hours during the summer
  • Candidate must have growing knowledge and application of Electrical Engineering principles
  • Candidate must have strong mathematical and analytic ability
  • Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Products (Office 365, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Access, SQL)
  • Candidate must have excellent Communication, Documentation Skills and attention to detail
  • Candidate must have an understanding of typical electrical bench equipment (Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Multimeters, etc)
