Job description

Position Summary: Securiport LLC is a US company based in Reston, VA, specializing in designing and implementing passenger biometric recognition, immigration processing, and intelligent information reporting and management systems based on advanced technological solutions. Securiport provides a complete immigration processing solution and analytics to maintain border security. Services include technical analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of Securiport's software solutions, training, and technical support to the field operations.


This is an entry-level opportunityideal for a recent college graduate or early-career professional with a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
You will work across the software lifecycle to help ensure the quality, reliability, and functionality of products delivered to clients. You will collaborate with the QA Team, developers, product teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support test design, test execution, defect tracking, documentation, and release readiness. You will be working in a hybrid Agile/Waterfall software lifecycle, with a strong bias toward Agile. You should have academic, internship, project-based, or early professional exposure to testing web applications, desktop applications, APIs, or software systems.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support quality assurance activities across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, release, and post-release support.
  • Assist with test planning, test case design, test execution, defect tracking, regression testing, and documentation.
  • Perform manual testing of thick-client desktop applications, web applications, and web services/APIs.
  • Review requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation to help ensure testability and completeness.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Participate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with QA team members, developers, product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to validate expected system behavior.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining clear end-user and administrator documentation in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Support automated testing activities at the unit, integration, and end-to-end levels; exposure to tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Ranorex is preferred.
  • Gain hands-on experience using test management and ALM tools, such as Azure DevOps, OpenText ALM, Jira, Confluence, Redmine, or similar platforms.
  • Apply strong written and verbal communication skills in English to document test results, defects, and QA findings clearly.


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related technical field from an accredited institution. QA-related coursework, certifications, bootcamps, internships, or academic projects are a plus.
  • Zero to three (0-3) years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, software development, technical support, systems analysis, application support, or a related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of software quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Academic, internship, project-based, or early professional exposure to the software development lifecycle.
  • Basic knowledge of test planning, test case development, defect tracking, regression testing, and test execution.
  • Familiarity with web applications, desktop applications, APIs, databases, or enterprise software systems.
  • Basic understanding of Agile software development environments, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, testing tools, QA processes, and business systems.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
