Description
Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C., a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm of professional engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, architects, and planners, is currently seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and self-motivated Environmental Technician for a full-time position in our Albany, NY office.
This is a field-oriented position involving environmental investigation, monitoring, remediation, and construction projects. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple assignments and priorities, work efficiently with limited supervision, and follow projects through to completion. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as this position requires close coordination with project managers, technical staff, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Duties include:
  • Collection of water, soil, air, and other environmental samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Perform environmental monitoring, field inspections, and site assessments.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate environmental sampling and monitoring equipment.
  • Accurately document field activities, observations, measurements, and sampling results.
  • Compile field data and assist with the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
  • Perform field observation and documentation of environmental remediation and construction activities.

Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering Technology, or related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant coursework, training, and experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience is preferred. Entry-level candidates with applicable education, field experience, internships, or technical training are encouraged to apply.
  • Valid driver's license and a willingness to travel on a routine basis.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document field observations and activities.
  • Candidates must have solid computer and writing skills, strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to interface with a variety of clients.
  • Willingness and ability to perform fieldwork outdoors in a variety of terrain and weather conditions.
  • Availability for occasional extended field assignments and overnight travel predominantly throughout New York and less frequent travel throughout the Northeast.
  • This position requires frequent carrying, lifting, and transfer of equipment and supplies. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to effectively multi-task and work both independently and in a team environment are important qualities for this position.
  • Candidates with their OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.

Estimated Pay Range: $22-26/hour.
Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
