Raytheon is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. In this role, the intern will support troubleshooting of RF/Microwave and Antenna hardware in production, assist with hardware integration, testing, and validation activities. The intern will work alongside experienced radar electronics engineers to diagnose and resolve hardware issues affecting airborne radar platforms.
What You Will Do:
  • Support Root-Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations for ongoing issues in manufacturing of RF/Microwave and Antenna hardware
  • Develop and implement solutions to resolve issues and identify opportunities to improve processes
  • Perform trade assessments to address component obsolescence, troubleshoot hardware performance issues, and support hardware integration, testing, and verification activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by enhancing test setups and documentation practices

What You Will Learn:
  • Develop hands-on expertise diagnosing and resolving RF/Microwave and Antenna hardware issues in a fast-paced production environment, including applying root-cause analysis and corrective-action methodologies.
  • Strengthening teamwork and early leadership skills while contributing to the production of next-generation antenna products.
  • Mentorship from engineers experienced in airborne radar design and development
  • Opportunities to support meaningful radar hardware tasks during the summer program

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related Science, Technology Engineering, or Math (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Coursework or project experience involving antenna theory or RF/microwave component design
  • Basic proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, and power supplies
  • Basic proficiency working with RF/Microwave and Antenna (AESA) design modeling and simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, etc.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience with Python, C/C++, MATLAB, or scripting languages for test automation
  • Experience with software tools such as Keysight ADS, HFSS, and AutoCAD (or comparable tools); experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects
  • Interest in radar systems or RF/digital hardware
  • Ability to travel to support hardware manufacturing locations.

The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
