Job description

Overview
As a System Engineer Intern, you would be engaging in several parts of the V-Cycle at once. Propose customer-tailored solutions using Stryten's Lithium building blocks, evaluating feedback from customers, and understanding failure modes. Also, you will evaluate needs, elicit requirements, create and execute verification and validation plans of Stryten's new generation of lithium packs.
Join us for a paid internship from May to August 2027! We are looking for students who are ready to learn and contribute in a 40-hour-per-week role. Please note that housing isn't provided, so you'll need to arrange your own housing and transportation. Stryten Energy is located north of Atlanta in Alpharetta, GA.

Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Perform operational analysis and develop concept of operations, design, and implementation plans
  • Develop test plans, procedures & use cases
  • Build bench test systems, conduct tests, and document results
  • Use software tools, scripting, and software/hardware troubleshooting
  • Elicit and analyze systems requirements from end systems and users
  • Supports development and evaluation of complex system designs and architectures
  • Develop and deliver presentations to communicate design activity plans and status to internal and external customers

Qualifications
Education, Experience, Certifications:
  • Graduating between December 2027 and May 2028
  • Working towards a BS in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • You must have housing and transportation
  • The position requires working on-site daily

Language Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good record-keeping, and documentation skills.

PC Software Knowledge:
  • Computer applications knowledge in the Windows environment with MS Office

Physical Demands:
  • Hearing, speaking, seeing, writing, standing, lifting (50 lbs.), sitting, bending, walking, and carrying

Work Environment:
  • A normal office and lab environment is typical. However, there will be periodic field and factory visits where there is some exposure to industrial environments, including lithium and lead-acid batteries
