Job description

Are you a current student enrolled at a college or university looking to gain professional computer programming experience? Do you want to join a fast-growing company with a mission to serve? We are OCV LLC. For more than 15 years, we have specialized in mobile app development for law enforcement, public safety, emergency management and public health agencies. Our custom apps for iPhone and Android devices help public safety organizations reach their citizens where they are: their smartphones. We have grown to be a leader in our field and are in search other motivated professionals to add to our dynamic team. We are currently recruiting for a Software Engineer Part-Time Intern to work on-site at our headquarters in Opelika, Alabama. This role contributes to the daily development queue, assisting with new application builds and ongoing support for hundreds of Android and iOS applications, websites, and related digital products.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in onboarding and technical training under the mentorship of a senior developer.
  • Learn and apply version control and testing practices.
  • Develop, maintain, and update Android and iOS applications through OCV’s proprietary systems.
  • Collaborate with Support and Project Management teams to resolve client issues and support production workflows.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and technical standards.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university studying computer science, software engineering, information systems or other related field.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
  • Working knowledge of JSON and command-line tools
  • Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow established processes
