Job Description

Maxi-Mix is a manufacturer of quality commercial and residential mortar products and part of the IKO Group of Companies. We presently have an opportunity for a HSE Engineering Co-Op (8-month or 12-month contract) to join our team based in Milton, Ontario. We are looking for someone to start during the Fall 2026


The HSE Engineering Co-Op works with their assigned manager to meet strategic corporate initiatives and executes successful capital projects.

When you join us you will:

  • Work with the Plant Maintenance team (Manager, Supervisors, Millwrights, Electricians, etc.)
  • Shadow Maintenance Manager to create SOPs and SWIs
  • Assist the Reliability Engineer with a complete review of all current Preventative (PM) and Predictive (PdM) maintenance activities, developing and refining tasks as required to ensure assets are properly maintained.
  • Perform spare parts optimization in support of PM and PdM inspection tasks for the highly critical assets.
  • Assist in the preparation of drawings and modeling to be included in projects.
  • Work with Millwrights and Electricians to determine the best practices and ensure all vital information collected is transferred to a standard PM template, and drawings are updated as required.
  • Work on other engineering related projects to help with plant operations and maintenance.
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate would be:

  • Committed to the health and safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary engineering program. New engineering graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Strong computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Prefer experience with CMMS/ Computerized Maintenance Management System (i.e. Maximo)
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, proficiency in AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Critical thinking skills, and high degree of organization are a must.
  • Troubleshooting capability is an asset.

Hours/Days/Schedule

Hours of work will be primarily Monday through Friday {40 hours, day shift}.

Wage:

  • $23.50/hour - $26.50/hour
