Serve as an Interdisciplinary Computer Scientist/Electronics Engineer in the 521st MXDPA flight. In this role you will be responsible for automating Operational Flight Program (OFP) integration tests based off system and subsystem design level requirements. You will work with multiple OEM stakeholders, including product owners, scrum masters, developers and build management to accomplish Safety Evidence Assurance Level (SEAL) 3 certification for the Core Processing Software (CPSW) for the F-35.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain a security clearance
- The selected candidate will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, for up to six weeks of initial onsite training. Upon completion, the candidate will report to Hill AFB for regular duty.
- At a minimum, qualification requirements stipulated by the US Office of Personnel Bachelor's degree in either Computer Science or Computer Engineering are preferred. To qualify for the Computer Scientist occupation in the Federal Government, a candidate must have a bachelor's degree in computer science or a bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Subsystem Analysis & Test Generation: Interpret F-35 Subsystem Requirements to design, develop, and execute automated integrated test suites specifically tailored for F-35 SEAL 3 code.
- Developer Collaboration: Work with software developers to understand implementation details including python unit tests to create automated integration tests early in the development lifecycle.
- Real-Time System Verification: Verify, validate, and stress-test software code running as part of a large-scale, complex, real-time F-35 modeled environment.
- Data Integration: Interact with the F-35 File Information Broker (FIB) to manage, extract, and verify mission system data, configuration files, and execution paths
- Virtual Collaboration: Actively engage with multiple OEM stakeholders in Fort Worth TX, including product owners, scrum masters, developers and build management specialists - Participate as a member of the OEM scrum team as a remote team member here at Hill AFB.
- Onsite Training: Initial training is completed at Fort Worth Texas and includes 6 weeks of training with the OEM, after which the candidate returns to work at Hill AFB.
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Proven experience in software testing, test automation, or software development
2. Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and large-scale embedded software systems
3. Strong proficiency in the Python scripting and programming languages used in automation
4. Ability to inspect and understand C++ syntax
5. Direct experience with F-35 systems, avionics, or integrated tests is highly desired
6. Exceptional debugging and analytical troubleshooting skills
7. Experience working with subsystem requirements and translating them into comprehensive test plans

- Comfort working in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of collaborating effectively across virtual, remote teams
- Familiarity with File Information Brokers or similar data management middleware
- The ACDP program offers accelerated compensation, structured mentorship, and a direct path to senior engineering roles.
