Engine Validation Engineer

Mossville, IL | Onsite | Full-Time

Position Overview

This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the quality, reliability, and performance of gas engine software through a combination of hands-on testing, automation development, and validation activities. The Core Gas Engine Software Test team is seeking a dedicated resource to focus on test automation, building packages that will be heavily used for production file delivery in place of the manual testing currently relied on. The successful candidate will help maintain and enhance automation infrastructure while supporting software release validation for current and future gas engine programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute engine software validation and test activities
  • Analyze test results, investigate defects, and conduct root cause analysis
  • Develop and maintain test automation, including driver file updates, script development, and debugging
  • Collaborate daily with software developers, controls engineers, test engineers, and validation engineers

Team Structure & Work Environment

  • Reports to: Engineering Team Lead / Project Team Lead
  • Work is performed in a soft lab environment, combining computer-based automation development with hands-on interaction with test systems and engine controls

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor or Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience required. ย
