Join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) Industry 4.0 team as a Principal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Test, where you'll help shape the future of automated test technologies across our manufacturing network. This team owns the engineering standards for electrical, automation, robotics, and test systems company-wide.   • Lead the planning, design, specification, and implementation of advanced electrical, instrumentation, and test systems used in manufacturing and laboratory environments.

  • Serve as the connection point between equipment project teams and test platform developers-ensuring clear communication, accurate requirements, and effective deployment of new capabilities

  • Introduce and scale technologies that transform equipment and product verification data into actionable insights for operations and quality teams.

  • Assess sensor technologies and test methods to ensure reliable process capability and compliance with quality requirements, while proposing new approaches when needed.

  • Partner with product design teams to integrate Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Testability (DFT) into part development.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

  • 7+ years hands on & relevant test or controls engineering experience with electrical, instrumented manufacturing equipment and processes in a large-scale manufacturing environment

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science

  • Experience with new product introduction (NPI), including systems integration and developing equipment interfaces

  • Successful design and deployment of factory equipment for data exchange, AutoID systems (barcode, RFID), and discrete/analog I/O

  • Proficient in operating systems (Windows, Linux), software programming concepts, and distributed architectures (server/client, pub/sub, security, web reporting)

  • Creative thinker with a proven track record of envisioning and executing future test system solutions

  • Self-motivated curiosity extending beyond immediate responsibilities

  • Skilled in root-cause analysis and troubleshooting unknown issues to implement corrective actions

  • Knowledgeable in instrumentation technologies: electrical, fluid, and visual inspection

  • Experience managing electromechanical equipment procurement projects, including specification development, supplier selection, technical reviews, installation, and qualification

  • Strong project tracking and detailed planning skills

  • Ability to work effectively in large cross-functional teams and across organizational levels

  • Fluency in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies, including 802.3, 802.11, STP, DNS, DHCP, Subnets, VLAN, VPN, MQTT, OPC-UA, HTTP, Firewalls, and protocol analysis (Wireshark)

  • Understanding of data encoding schemes: XML, JSON, Protobuf

  • Experience with Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or related technologies

  • Skilled in deploying computer systems for rapid feasibility demonstrations (single-board computers, Docker containers, virtual machines)

  • Working knowledge of data analysis platforms such as MiniTab, SAS, R, Jupyter Notebook, or equivalents
