Looking for a senior hardware designer capable of designing, developing and testing of new and custom electronic hardware. Must be able to take high level architecturally design input and implement that design in hardware. Including all low level glue logic required to correctly connect up logic devices. Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Candidates must be proficient in both analog and digital design. Some familiarity to implement multiphase switching regulator as well as low power regulators. Should be able to calculate system power requirements and implement a power solution that meets those requirements. Also understand system clocking requirements and implement those needs. 


Qualifications

Should have a familiarity with major computer interfaces such as PCI, PCIe, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, DRAM, SRAM, etc. Also a working knowledge of FPGAs such as Altera, Xilinx or Lattice and how to implement them in a system is preferred. Must be proficient in the use of CAD tools for example ConceptHDL schematic capture, Orcad Capture or similar schematic capture tool. The ideal candidate will be able to generate netlists, resolve errors in report generation, and convert schematics from one tool to the other. Experience in PCB layout and tools such as Allegro a plus. Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years of applicable work experience preferred. Familiarity with the design of microcontroller based circuits is desirable.Design expertise of a semiconductor circuit designer, specifically a designer with high level expertise in the design of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs).

Designer must have expertise in both the architecture, design and verification of multi-core processor ASICs. 

The requirements of this position include: 

 1. the ability to design the ASIC at the individual gate level through the overall system level to meet the specifications for the given ASIC application

 2. ability to formulate and document a detailed verification plan which verifies the performance at both the system level and the detailed hardware levels. 

 3. leadership skills, being able to supervise the technical work of a small verification team

7. ability to quickly evaluate and understand when a specific design is headed down a "dead-end" path and can quickly change direction
