CAD/CAM Programmer
Location: Richmond, VA
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay Rate: Starting at $28.00/hr (higher depending on experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CAD/CAM Programmer to join a growing manufacturing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong machining experience who can program, set up, and optimize CNC operations while ensuring quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and modify CAM programs using Fusion 360 or similar software
  • Perform machine setup, including tooling, speeds, and feeds
  • Interpret and work with G & M code
  • Conduct first article inspections and ensure part quality
  • Use inspection equipment such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement effective solutions
  • Collaborate with operators and team members to improve processes
Required Qualifications:
  • Several years of hands-on machining experience
  • 2-5 years of CAM programming experience (Fusion 360 preferred; SolidCAM, MasterCAM, or FeatureCAM acceptable)
  • Strong understanding of machine setup, tooling, and CNC processes
  • Experience with inspection tools and quality checks
  • Proven problem-solving skills in a machining environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with HAAS machines
  • Technical certification in machining or a related field
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Ability to train and mentor team members
  • Strong communication skills and ability to share knowledge effectively
