Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior Application Engineer to support HVAC and thermal system applications for commercial vehicle and off-highway customers.
This role is ideal for candidates with around 2-4 years of experience who are looking to grow in a hands-on engineering environment. You will work closely with internal engineering teams and support customer programs from concept through validation.
This position is based in Morton, IL, with a hybrid work model and occasional travel depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Support customer programs by assisting in HVAC and thermal system application development
• Review RFQs and help prepare technical solutions under guidance from senior engineers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design, prototyping, testing, and validation
• Assist in product development and performance evaluation of heat exchangers and HVAC systems
• Support documentation such as test reports, DVP&R, and engineering changes
• Participate in internal meetings and customer discussions as needed
• Learn and apply industry standards and engineering best practices

Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Thermal, or related fields)
Professional Experience
• 3+ years of experience in application engineering, thermal systems, or HVAC-related roles
• Experience in automotive, commercial vehicles, or off-highway equipment preferred
Skills & Competencies
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems or thermal management principles
• Familiarity with CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, Creo, etc.)
• Exposure to APQP, FMEA, or DVP&R is a plus
