Job description

Kishwaukee Education Consortium has an opening for a part-time Teaching Assistant (TA) to support the Computer Information Systems (CIS) Instructor for the 2024-2025 school year.
The KEC CIS program is a two-year program, equipping high school students in a broad range of computer topics. The TA will support the CIS Instructor and will need to be knowledgeable in various computer fields. A background in CompTIA certifications is a plus.


Knowledge and/or experience with the following areas are recommended for the TA:
  • Computer Hardware, Repair and Configuration
  • Computer Networking
  • Computer Programming
  • Python
  • JavaScript

The TA will have the following responsibilites under the guidance of the CIS Instructor:
  • Create and execute in-class computer lab lessons or practice exercises pertaining to the relevant subject matter
  • Take daily attendance
  • Evaluate student work
  • Update the class gradebook
  • Maintain classroom management

The CIS course is held daily from 12:45 - 2:15 at KEC. Initially, the TA will work 3 days a week, from 12:30 - 2:30, with possible opportunties for growth. The pay is $20.00-$23.00 per hour, based on the TA candidate's prior experience, certifications, and/or degrees.
