Join Our Team as an Engineering Intern at Johnson Electric!

Location: Ancaster, ON, Canada (onsite)

Salary Range: $22-$24 per hour
Vacancy Type: Co-op Position
Schedule: Full-time, Day shift
Relocation: Not Applicable
Travel: Minimal

As our next Engineering Intern, you'll lead the analysis and reporting of important product characteristics on various product lines. The Engineering Intern reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Actively participates in the development and implementation of processes, part development and equipment selection / installation

  • Provides assistance in the recommendation of modifications to tooling, plant equipment and prototypes in development, to permit economical manufacturing; or to meet performance specifications and the requirements of service ability

  • Supports and participates in production team meetings to review and resolve Quality, Service, Operations, Facilities, Human Resources and Health & Safety issues when required

  • Acts as a technical resource and provides support to the human resources, processes, products, and equipment employed within the area to which you may be assigned on a day-to-day basis

  • Contributes towards meeting the goals of producing quality parts, on-time and at the lowest possible cost

  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures for Operators and Tool Setters.

  • Communicates with Production and other Departments on a regular basis to keep them well informed of the progress in technological advances made within the scope of this position

  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives

  • Adheres to Johnson Electric Canada's policies and procedures

  • Adheres and supports Stackpole's Safety and Environmental policies and practices

  • Ensure the requirements of the Quality Management System, IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 are conformed to

  • Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • Third- or Fourth-Year Engineering student within a Mechanical / Industrial (Manufacturing Option) / Materials discipline.


Technical & Skill Requirements:

  • Must possess strong analytical skills, acute attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with a variety of people.

  • Must have a high level of motivation, initiative and interest in personal achievement.

  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization.

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.

  • Auto Cad, Draft Sight or any Cad skills

  • Solid Works skills

  • Coding (Python) etc preferred

  • Microsoft Excell, Power Point, Word etc

WORK ENVIRONMENT (including Physical Demands):

  • Primarily office environment with some time spent in manufacturing facilities

  • Day shif
