Job description

We’re looking for a Principal Mobile App Engineer to lead the design, development, and evolution of high-performing mobile applications built with React Native. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and can bridge the gap between business goals and technical execution.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the architecture and development of scalable, high-performance mobile apps using React Native and modern React frameworks
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for all mobile app development initiatives
  • Partner with product, design, and engineering leaders to deliver impactful features that drive user engagement and conversion
  • Translate business needs into elegant, well-architected technical solutions
  • Guide teams in building maintainable, reusable, and performant codebases
  • Support production releases, troubleshoot issues, and ensure application stability
  • Drive adoption of best practices in CI/CD, testing, and deployment strategies
  • Collaborate on long-term architecture and technology roadmap planning
  • Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and trends to keep the platform modern and competitive
  • Lead experimentation and feature innovation to continuously improve user experience
What You Bring
  • Deep expertise in React Native and React-based ecosystems
  • Strong experience building and scaling mobile applications with high performance and reliability
  • Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and modern frameworks (e.g., Next.js)
  • Experience consuming REST APIs and GraphQL services
  • Familiarity with cloud environments and modern application architectures (e.g., JAMstack)
  • Advanced knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and agile tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience implementing:
    • Design systems and component libraries
    • Feature flagging and experimentation frameworks
    • Mobile integrations such as payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal) and social logins
  • Strong understanding of application security, performance optimization, and debugging
  • Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and guide development efforts across teams
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering business value
  • Comfortable using modern developer tooling, including AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of overall software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building applications with React Native
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred)

Nice to Have
  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., Sitecore)
  • Experience in high-traffic consumer applications or digital platforms
  • Background in experimentation, A/B testing, and analytics-driven development
