We are looking for the best talent in Materials Engineering.

Materials Engineering Co-Op helps deliver a wide range of raw material characterization and qualification projects by performing a variety of engineering and research assignments. Additionally, the CO-OP will have the opportunity to work with Global Material Suppliers and Teams both domestically and internationally.

You will be responsible for:

  • The CO-OP reviews the progress and evaluates the data and presents the results of multiple projects across various functional groups.

  • The CO-OP coordinates raw material and contact lens testing and protocol requirements as necessary to achieve project completion.

  • The CO-OP facilitates and conducts engineering assignments involving business continuity and cost improvement projects.

  • The CO-OP acts as an advocate for the continuous improvement of technology and processes.

  • The CO-OP adheres to environmental policy and procedures and supports department environmental objectives.

  • The position gives students multiple opportunities to work with both internal multi-functional teams as well as interact with the external partners and raw material suppliers both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Current student of Chemical Engineering/Material Science and Engineering /Bioengineering /Polymer Science and Engineering or equivalent required experience. 0 to 3 years with a BS in Engineering or Science related field. Graduate school students are encouraged to apply.

  • Availability to work on site if the position requires it.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

  • Excellent organizational skills required.

  • Statistical design and analysis of experiments (Minitab or any statistical analysis tool).

Candidate Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must:

  • Be authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship requirements.

  • Remain actively enrolled in their academic program throughout the entire internship period.

  • Be available to work 40 hours per week during the internship.

  • Should have a minimum GPA of 3

Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
