Continuous Improvement Co-Op Intern

Location: Pocatello, ID.

Duration: 6 months

Start Date: June 15th, 2026 (open to part-time and full-time)

Pay: $18-20/hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Details:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Co-Op intern to join the Continuous Improvement Team this summer and fall. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience while supporting process improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. The intern will be assigned to specific production process and will deliver data-driven process improvement recommendations through direct observation, analysis, and collaboration with operations teams.

This structured 6-month program provides practical exposure to manufacturing operations, continuous improvement methodologies, and cross-functional teamwork. High-performing co-op interns may be considered for full-time employment opportunities upon successful completion of the program.

  • Observe assigned manufacturing process(es) to understand workflows, constraints, and performance drivers.
  • Collect and analyze operational data related to efficiency, quality, downtime, or waste.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and support root cause analysis activities.
  • Partner with operators, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to understand current practices.
  • Develop and present process improvement recommendations supported by data.
  • Assist with implementation or validation of approved improvements where applicable.
  • Document process maps, standard work, or project findings.

Education:

  • Attending a four-year college or university to attain a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; or already awarded bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; data analysis skills preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional plant teams.
