Electrical CAD Technician

Job Description:
The Technician will function as a member of a technical team alongside Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers by contributing to the planning and design efforts associated with preparing required orders, obtaining right of way, public project relocations, etc. to implement recommended system improvements, such as capacity improvements, pole replacements, recloser reconditioning, etc.
Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing new drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
  • Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
  • Responsible for adhering to ANSI standard drafting practices.
  • Assist in drafting, design, and documentation for various projects.
  • Assist with tasks utilizing various drafting and design software.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • The manager will consider a HS graduate as long as they have the specialized CAD certification (must show on resume) and multiple years of relevant drafting experience (min 2 years - max of 5 yrs). (If none, the lowest manager would go is Associates degree in CAD related program).
  • Minimum Associate's degree in CAD related program or specialized CAD certification plus 2 years of relevant drafting experience
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient in the use of: AutoCAD, BlueBeam
  • Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
