Job description

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions has an immediate opening for a CMM Programmer in Peoria, IL. Pay starts at $29-31hr and this is a 1st shift position.

Overall Purpose

The Fixed-type CMM Programmer participates in the site inspection function by developing inspection paths for computerized coordinate measuring machines. The Fixed CMM Programmer develops direct-computer control (DCC) programs using customer part specifications in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

(To include but not limited to the following)

Client Relationship & Business Development

  • Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria.

Operations

  • Determine part inspection requirements from customer's (geometric) blueprint features
  • Create DCC inspection-path programs for fixed-type coordinate measuring machines
  • Administer and/or edit previously created programs
  • Ensure the part-inspection programs are consistent with part number and revision level
  • Qualify and operate fixed-type CMM equipment as required
  • Verify the operator's set-up is suitable, the machine is calibrated and is operational
  • Operate computer programming hardware and software systems
  • Analyze and troubleshoot fixed-type machine set-ups and inspections paths Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned

Technical

  • Expert-level proficiency developing DCC automated inspection programs, using PC-DMIS operating systems or equivalent
  • Expert-level proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings (blueprints)
  • Expert-level proficiency interpreting geometric dimensioning & tolerance standards
  • Expert-level proficiency navigating MS Windows TM and computer networks
  • Expert-level proficiency in applied mathematics-algebra, geometry and trig
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of surface-plate inspection techniques, measuring tools and gages Demonstrated comfort level interfacing with staff and management, while working in a fast-paced environment
