Productions Systems Automation has partnered with Lackawanna College to help fill their Adjunct Professor / Program Director of Robotics position. EMPLOYEE JOB DESCRIPTION
Adjunct Instructor- Robotics and Integrated Technologies Program
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
Adjunct instructors are part-time faculty hired to teach a specified course/s on a per-semester basis. The opportunity to continue teaching at the college is assessed every semester, and criteria for re-employment include: Attention to administrative deadlines (i.e., setting up course before semester starts, grading student work, tracking attendance), timely and professional communication with students and colleagues, and students' course/instructor evaluations.
Current openings are for Morning and Afternoon classes running at the Scranton Campus (in person).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Prepares lesson plans and instructs students in a classroom and/or virtual (Microsoft TEAMS) setting.
  2. Thoroughly prepares and teaches all course lessons, considering diverse learners and accounting for current trends and industry regulations.
  3. Provides support and guidance to students to optimize learning outcomes.
  4. Completes and maintains all required documentation and records, meeting established deadlines, including, but not limited to, syllabi, grades, midterm and final grades, attendance, and end-of-semester reflection on Student Learning Objectives (SLOs).
  5. Fosters a professional and supportive classroom environment conducive to students learning, asking questions, thinking critically, and growing as individuals.
  6. Provides meaningful hands-on application of material to reinforce transfer of learning.
  7. All other duties as required by the Dean.

  7. Proficient in programming and robotic programming troubleshooting skills.
  8. Proficient in various automation programming (ie. PLC, Robotic, etc).
  9. Effective interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and encouragement.
  10. Willingness to work collaboratively with internal and external partners of the business division and the College.
  11. Commitment to fulfillment of the College mission.

EDUCATION:
  • AAS degree in Robotics, Electrical, or a related field, including a minimum of 18 credits in any combination of Electrical courses (e.g., PLC, Motor Controls, Robotics, Basic AC/DC theory, etc.) required
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial type environment in the field of Elec, Robotics, Mech, Engineering, etc., preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience in a corporate or higher education setting preferred, but not necessary.
  • Willingness to learn a Learning Management System (LMS) (e.g., Canvas).
