Computer Room Operator

The Computer Room Operator is responsible for verification of all cash tills and preparation of daily bank deposits.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Verify cash tills
  • Monitor Front-End for till accumulations and make timely pickups from cashiers.
  • Ensure that the count rooms are locked at all times.
  • Pick up cashier receipts and prepare bank deposits in accordance with check-up procedures.
  • Prepare bank deposits according to store's policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a daily log of deposits.
  • Maintain a daily log of vendor, local, and store coupons.
  • Maintain a daily log of refunds and charges.
  • Know and enforce strict security policies, procedures, and regulations as they pertain to money handling.
  • Count and band money.
  • Exchange cash for checks with the front office before finalizing deposit.

Additional Job Functions:

  • Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of computer recovery procedures.
  • Keep work station and area around work station neat and clean.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all transactions and data contained in the computer, except to authorized persons.
  • Answer the telephone.
  • Encode checks.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
