Job description

Andromeda Systems Incorporated (ASI) is seeking experienced CAD Designers and Operators capable of developing and updating 2D drawings and 3D CAD models to support US DoD projects in our Jacksonville, FL office.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update 2D drawings and 3D CAD models
  • Utilize drawing and modeling standards and instructions such as MIL-STD-31000A, ASME Y.14.100-2018, NAVAIRINST 5600.14E, etc.
  • Collaborate with teammates to produce a quality and consistent product
  • Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  • Utilize a wide degree of creativity and latitude in daily activities

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of work experience developing 2D and 3D models and drawings
  • Familiarity with drawing standards and instructions such as MIL-STD-31000A, ASME Y.14.100-2018, NAVAIRINST 5600.14E, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD. General knowledge in Solid Edge, Inventor, CATIA, NX, or similar 3D CAD software
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Drafting or Engineering Technology with 3+ years of work experience developing 2D and 3D models and drawings
  • 7+ years of experience in 2D and 3D drawing/model development
  • Detailed understanding of drawing and modeling standards and instructions utilized by NAVAIR
  • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Proficient with Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Inventor, NX, and/or CATIA
  • Knowledge in the application of GD&T principles (IAW ASME Y14.5-1994)
  • Working knowledge of primary, secondary, and systems aircraft structure
  • Familiarity with maintenance and repair practices used in the aerospace industry
