Computer Operator I / Help Desk Representative - Richmond, VA


We are seeking a Computer Operator I / Help Desk Representative for a Richmond, VA-based client environment.


This role is ideal for someone who is tech savvy, enjoys working with computers, has strong customer service skills, and can follow documented procedures in a structured operations environment.


Pay: $22.50 per hour
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Shift Pattern: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Richmond, VA


Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily operation of computer systems.
  • Monitor enterprise infrastructure and escalate issues as required.
  • Complete daily checklist tasks under supervision.
  • Report problems to the Senior Computer Operator or supervisor.
  • Respond to customer questions and follow up appropriately under supervision.
  • Assist with recovery activities needed to restore normal operations.
  • Follow established escalation procedures across Computer Operations and related departments.
  • Support senior computer operators as needed.
  • Track and document issues using a ticketing or tracking system.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Comfortable working with computers and technical systems.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and escalation steps.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts.
  • Ability to work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check.
  • Must pass an FBI-like background check required to obtain a gaming license.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a help desk, computer operator, NOC, data center, or technical support environment.
  • Experience documenting issues in a ticketing or tracking system.
  • Experience monitoring systems, alerts, or enterprise infrastructure.
