Job description

Valiant is seeking a Full-Time skilled Computer Operator II to report directly to the Lead Operator(s) to join our team!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Computer Operator II performs the functions of Dedicated Operations Support (DOS) on the F/A-18 or E/A-1 BG training devices.
  • Perform the initial start-up and preparation of the flight simulator for daily training.
  • Install the initial conditions for the training event as published on the training schedule for each event.
  • Responsible for the operation and control of the trainers throughout the scheduled training event/schedule and able to respond to Instructor direction with regard to scenario development.
  • Any full trained Operator may be utilized for multi-ship missions.
  • Trainer operators shall be responsible for communicating with Blue forces as they move into, onto and around Red Forces during simulated training scenarios involving air-to-air intercepts and air-to-ground strike mission.
  • Ability to deviate at the direction of the instructor in loading initial conditions that are different than those published
  • Work closely with the instructor to enhance training effectiveness, by enabling the instructor to maximize their student/event interaction rather than manipulating the training device.
  • Work any shift and weekends as specified by Contract for this site.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by site manager, assistant site manager or lead computer operator.
  • Other duties as assigned.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Active Secret
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Operator II shall demonstrate competence through satisfactory, progressive performance as a simulator operator.
  • 2+ years' experience preferred as a Flight Simulator Tactical Missions Operator I or equivalent combination of relevant experience, education or training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform as a Computer Operator II.
  • Knowledge of flight simulator principles, practices, methodology, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with US naval Aviation operational and tactical terminology and concepts.
  • Effective oral and written communication. Organizing daily activities, schedules, data, and materials regarding scheduled training missions.
  • Must present a professional appearance in demeanor and dress at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.
